Actxa Launches Spark Band, Targeting Non-Invasive Glucose Monitoring Market at IFA 2026

by admin477351

In a significant stride towards integrating health monitoring with wearable technology, Singapore’s health tech firm Actxa has unveiled its latest innovation, the Spark Band, at IFA Berlin 2026. This novel device stands out with its screenless design, capable of tracking a multitude of health metrics, including sleep patterns, recovery rates, heart health, and physical activity levels. The Spark Band also introduces Actxa’s proprietary non-invasive glucose awareness technology. The wearable is designed for continuous use, day and night, offering users an AI-powered Glucose Snapshot. This feature provides an estimated glucose range with an indicative value in about a minute, aimed at promoting general wellness and awareness rather than serving as a medical diagnostic tool.

Users of the Spark Band can perform glucose snapshots at various times throughout the day, such as around meal times, to identify glucose-related trends over time. Actxa emphasizes that this approach encourages users to assess these trends alongside other health and lifestyle data, rather than focusing on isolated readings. The Spark Band’s capabilities extend beyond glucose monitoring; it includes comprehensive health and fitness tracking through the Actxa app. Features range from analyzing sleep stages and scores to monitoring recovery by comparing heart rate variability (HRV) during sleep against a personal baseline. For fitness enthusiasts, the band tracks movement, intensity minutes, and delivers insights on workouts, VO2 Max, and Fitness Age.

Designed to minimize distractions, the Spark Band foregoes a traditional screen, instead using LED and vibration alerts for notifications such as reaching target heart rate zones, movement reminders, and alarms. This minimalistic approach is complemented by a robust battery life of up to 14 days, and a quick full recharge in 90 minutes. Weighing in at approximately 22 grams, the device is housed in a zinc-alloy casing with a soft nylon braided strap, available in Titanium Silver with Jet Black accents and a Midnight Black strap. It is offered in two sizes, S/M and M/L, and boasts an IP68 water resistance rating suitable for daily exposure, including brief immersion.

The Spark Band will be available for pre-order starting September 24, 2026, priced at SGD 199 or USD 149, with deliveries beginning on November 18, 2026. It will initially launch in select markets across the Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. To entice early adopters, Actxa plans a series of promotional discounts, including a 40% early-bird offer from September 24 to October 31, a 20% discount from November 1 to 17, and a 10% launch offer following the official release.

Actxa, founded in 2015, continues to expand its footprint in the health and wellness technology sector with innovative solutions like the Spark Band. While the company highlights that the AI Glucose Snapshot is designed for wellness awareness and not medical management or diagnosis, it notes that battery performance and water resistance may vary based on usage and environmental conditions.
