In a recent appearance on Slovak television, Eštok criticized the EU for what he perceives as a muted response to political changes occurring under the leadership of Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar. He suggested that the EU’s current silence contrasts sharply with its historically stringent reactions to similar issues.
Eštok’s criticism focused on several recent alterations within Hungary, including the ousting of the nation’s president, amendments to the constitution, and new regulations impacting members of parliament. Additional reforms to the public broadcasting system were also highlighted.
